3 Tips to Keep Your Eyes Healthy

There is very little you do in your everyday life that is not directly connected with your ability to see. Here at the office of Harry W. Chan, we take great pride in the work we do to help people improve their vision and maintain good eye health. Here are three of our best tips for keeping your eyes healthy.

1. Eat a Healthy Diet

Yes, we are another medical office begging our clients to eat healthy. The foods you eat can have a direct impact on your vision. Eating a diet rich in good nutrients can improve your vision and could help to prevent major troubles like cataracts and glaucoma.

2. Wear Sunglasses

The sun is very damaging to the eyes. Far too many of our clients are not using the proper protection from the damaging rays of the sun. Simply wearing sunglasses can help to prevent a lot of this damage. We suggest keeping a pair in your home, in your car, in your bag, and in your work space. That way you will always be able to find them when needed.

3. Limit Your Screen Time

Much of today’s work and entertainment centers on screens of some type. Your phone, your computer, and your TV can really wear on your eye muscles and can dry them out. You can help improve your eye health by limiting the time you spend in front of these screens, or breaking up the times by taking a quick walk or grabbing a drink of water from time to time.
