How to Choose Good-Looking Glasses

Whether you are a first-time glasses buyer or simply in the market for new frames, it’s important for you to look good in your new eyewear. Glasses not only help you to see better, but they also give you a chance to show your style and personality through an accessory.

Determining what type of frames you should buy will depend completely on your face shape and complexion. Don’t decide to buy new glasses based solely on what’s in style. Take the time to establish what will look the best on you.

It will be helpful to first determine your face shape. You can do this by taking a picture of your face and outlining your face. The shape should fall into one of the following categories: round, oval, square, oblong, diamond, or triangle. Once you have established which category you fall into, it will much easier to choose a style that looks good on you.

You will want to choose a frame that will contrast your face shape. For example, if you have a round face, you will want to choose narrow, rectangular glasses as opposed to large, round frames. This will make your face appear longer. Or if you have an oblong face, you will want to choose frames that add width to your face and shorten the appearance of the nose. Square faces will look best in narrow round frames and oval faces can pretty much look good in just about anything they wear.

The color of the frame should be determined by your skin tone. If you have a warm skin tone–gold, copper, peach, off-white, red, and blonde–tortoise shell are going to be great choices. For cool tones, try black, silver, darker tortoise shell, blue, and jade will look great on you.

With the right research and time spent, you will be sure to find frames that look great on you!
